STUDENT SUPPORT OFFICER
We are looking for someone to work within our school’s dynamic and committed Student Achievement Team to support the academic achievement and well-being of our students.
At SWCHS we pride ourselves on our pastoral provision aimed at supporting all students within our school community. We employ teaching and non-teaching colleagues to work with our young people, including Year Achievement Coordinators (YAC), Deputy Year Achievement Coordinators (DYAC), Student Support Officers (SSOs), a full-time counsellor, school nurse and dedicated Crocus Wellbeing team. The successful candidate will join the Student Achievement team and will work as part of a year team, supporting their year group of 300 pupils.
Key daily tasks within this role include:
- Working alongside the YAC and DYAC to support pupil achievement, attendance, personal development, and behaviour.
- liaising with pupils, staff, and parents to investigate and resolve pastoral, academic or personal issues.
- delivering cover lessons across all year groups.
SWCHS is an outstandingly successful school with very high achieving pupils. There is a major emphasis on our pupils developing advanced learning skills including those of confident, independent learners.

Experience of working with young people is essential and experience of working in a school setting is preferable.
Hours are 37 per week term time only. Salary point 9 - 14 (£26,409 - £28,624) pro rata actual salary £22,640.63
