Bar Mock Trial Competition
On Tuesday 1st March, SWCHS students competed in the local heat of the Bar Mock Trial Competition – this competition is run by the Citizenship Foundation and encourages the development of legal education within schools. In previous years, the local heats have been held at a local Court, but this year they were held virtually and students were therefore competing against other schools in the region over Zoom.
Our students performed wonderfully for the duration of the day – with some outstanding performances within the myriad of roles played. In addition to the normal pressures of competing, SWCHS had two students who had to pull out of the competition at the last minute, and other members of their teams had to step into their roles. SWCHS also fielded an additional team when a school could not attend. We didn’t win our heat – but our students should be very proud of their achievements and performances during the day under some difficult circumstances
