At SWCHS, in Year 9, students complete their Key Stage 3 programmes of study.  During this year, as well as continuing with their core curriculum, they can also experience new subjects, such as Spanish, Latin, Business, Health & Social Care, and Art and Technology specialisms, before finally committing to subjects that they will take on to GCSE level in Years 10 and 11. This model allows students to maintain a broad and balanced curriculum, while also working at a higher level, developing foundation skills across a range of subjects, and ensuring they can make more informed final GCSE choices during Year 9.

In the spring term, we will provide further information about this process to the current Year 8 and Year 9 parents/carers and students.
